The Manville junior marksmanship program was started approximately 18 years ago to introduce young boys and girls to the sport of shooting. In this program the children ages 10 to 20 are instructed by dedicated and experienced volunteer instructors.
Youngsters new to the programs are first put through a thorough firearms safety and handling orientation. After orientation the children will then learn the disciplines of firearms use, goal setting, and competitive shooting skills both on an individual and team basis. Competitions take place on both a local and national level.
These programs help children learn respect for themselves and others, as well as being able to socialize and enjoy themselves in a safe and secure environment.
Our junior programs are sponsored through the American legion and most events are sanctioned by the National Rifle Association. As our junior shooters progress they have the opportunity to participate and compete in a variety of different marksmanship programs. These include programs such as Sporter air rifle, Small-bore, high-power rifle and our youth Archery program.
We hope you enjoy the review of our youth programs and invite you to contact the listed manager if you would like to learn more about a specific program.
