Equipment and Fees:
$15 fee for each match
It is required that you attempt to create an alias and dress the part.
There are a wide range of shotguns, rifles, and revolvers that meet the requirements to shoot in the match, for detailed information please review this Getting Started! (which linked to SASS PDF)

General Information for MSRGC Members:
Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of Month from 1 to 4pm
Black Powder Range Reserved for Practice
Every 2nd Sunday of Month from 10 to 1pm
Black Powder Range Reserved for MATCHES
Note: All participation will be performed within the range rules of the club.
- The SAS discipline will be informal within the MSRGC.
- We will not be affiliated with Cowboy Action shooting at this time.
- Members signing up to participate in this discipline will not be required to have a complete line of equipment. Bob Andies has models of most of these that you may try and become familiar with before possible purchasing.
Suggested firearms are, but not limited to the following:
- Single Action revolver: 45 Colt, 44 Magnum, 44 Remington Special, 44-40. For safety reasons, all firearms must be 40 Cal or greater)
Suggested Models are:- Ruger Single Action 44, and 45 Calibers. - Remington 1875 Reproduction 44, 45 and 44-40 Calibers- Remington 1858 Conversion 44. 45. and 44-40 Calibers- Rifles: Pistol calibers same as revolvers
- Muzzleloaders: Rifle or handgun: 44, 45, 50 or 54 Caliber.
- Shotguns: - Pump slide action: Standard is Winchester Model 1897: 20, 16, 12, or 10 G
- Lever action: Standard is the Winchester Model 1887: Calibers as above - Coach Gun: 20 inch barrel side-by-side: Calibers as above
Notes: Members may participate in any type firearm that is available. If members want to try shooting and do not have a firearm of some type, they are welcome to try mine, it they purchase their own ammo. Best Reproductions are manufactured and imported from Italy by
